Me vs. Us.
As a leadership coach, I am often amazed at how leaders within organizations get sucked into the "go at it alone" frame of mind. For those of you who may not understand this concept, please allow me to explain.
When given a task of leading a project, we have often been taught and trained to put our heads down and push out the work. Even if we have subordinates or colleagues to help execute the actual work, we often continue to place all (or most) of the activities on our own shoulders. While noble, this is not often efficient. It is therefore important for leaders of all facets to realize the following:
By myself, I can and have been able to accomplish so much. I was able to get through school, find a job, and allow others to see my potential and all that I can bring to the table.
With others, my road is more efficient and effective. Delegation, accountability, and support are a major part of my vocabulary. Future leadership opportunities are on the horizon because I know how to inspire, connect and lead.
The process of mind-blending here described as a “MasterMind” may be likened to the act of one who connects many electric batteries to a single transmission wire, thereby ‘stepping up’ the power passing over that line by the amount of energy the batteries carry…Each mind, through the principle of mind chemistry, stimulates all the other minds in the group. ~Napoleon Hill
